Process Overview
Mould Preparation: Steel or cast iron dies are preheated (typically to around) and coated with a release agent like those supplied by Foseco to prevent sticking and manage heat flow.
Pouring: Molten metal—most commonly aluminium, but also zinc or copper alloys—is poured into the cavity.
Solidification & Ejection: The metal cools rapidly due to the thermal conductivity of the steel die. Once solid, the die is opened, and the part is ejected.
